Welcome to MuslimOK.org, the premier platform serving the Muslim community in Oklahoma. As the president and founder of this initiative, I am honored to introduce you to a resource designed specifically for Muslims across the Sooner State and those interested in learning about our vibrant community.
Why Oklahoma’s Muslim Community Needed MuslimOK.org
Over the years, I’ve watched Oklahoma’s Muslim community grow and flourish. Yet our resources and information remain scattered. A family new to Tulsa might struggle to find the nearest mosque. A college student in Stillwater might not know where to buy halal groceries. A non-Muslim neighbor might be curious about Ramadan but unsure where to learn more. These everyday challenges inspired the creation of MuslimOK.org.
More importantly, I recognized the need for a platform that could tell our story; the story of Muslims who are proud Oklahomans, who love this state, who contribute to its prosperity, and who are deeply invested in its future. We needed a space that could showcase the rich diversity within our community while also building bridges of understanding with our fellow Oklahomans of all faiths and backgrounds.
MuslimOK.org was created to fill these gaps. It’s a resource center, a community connector, and a storytelling platform all in one. But more than that, it’s a testament to our commitment to being active, engaged members of Oklahoma society.
Building Oklahoma’s Premier Muslim Resource Platform
Building MuslimOK.org is an ongoing journey, and we’re committed to developing it thoughtfully and comprehensively. Here’s how we plan to grow:
Phase One: Foundation Building We’re starting by creating a comprehensive database of essential resources, mosques, Islamic centers, halal restaurants, grocery stores, and Muslim-owned businesses across Oklahoma. This directory will serve as the backbone of our site, making it easy for anyone to find what they need, wherever they are in the state.
Phase Two: Community Engagement
Our next step launches an event calendar and news section, ensuring that Muslims throughout Oklahoma can stay connected with what’s happening in their communities. We’ll also begin featuring stories from Muslim Oklahomans, sharing their experiences, achievements, and contributions to our state.
Phase Three: Educational Resources
The platform will develop robust educational content over time, including guides for non-Muslims interested in learning about Islam, resources for new Muslims, and materials for Muslim families seeking to strengthen their faith and practice in Oklahoma.
Phase Four: Interactive Features
As we grow, we’ll introduce interactive elements like community forums, volunteer opportunities, and platforms for Muslims and non-Muslims to engage in meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
How MuslimOK.org Serves Oklahoma Muslims
MuslimOK.org will serve multiple purposes for our diverse audience:
For Muslim Residents:
This will be your one-stop resource for everything you need, from finding salah (prayer) times at local mosques to discovering the best biryani in Oklahoma City, from connecting with Islamic schools to learning about community service opportunities.
For New Arrivals:
Whether you’re moving here for work, education, or family, MuslimOK.org will help you settle into Oklahoma life quickly, connecting you with the resources and communities that will make this state feel like home.
For Students and Young Professionals:
We’ll highlight Muslim Student Associations, young professional networks, and opportunities for the next generation of Muslim Oklahomans to connect and thrive.
For Interfaith Partners:
We invite our friends and neighbors of all faiths to use this platform to learn about Islam and the Muslim community, find opportunities for interfaith collaboration, and strengthen the bonds that make Oklahoma special.
For Businesses and Organizations:
Muslim-owned businesses and organizations will have a platform to reach their community and beyond, strengthening Oklahoma’s economy and entrepreneurial spirit.

It’s our way of saying that Muslim Oklahomans are here to stay, here to contribute, and here to build a brighter future for all who call this state home.
